DAVE AND MARTIN MUST WRITE SONGS TOGETHER

A forum for Dave's "Paper Monsters" project.

Some years ago Dave answered that DM is a music of Martin and the voice of Dave Gahan. He is right. But after Paper monsrets I can say, that Dave can write a few songs to the future album of DM (maybe 50 percents). To my mind Dave can add to DM new drive melodies and liric melodies too.You can compare Daea of Night from Exciter and - Living in a bottle. I think that Dead of night has artificial drive (arrangement is no good, cause this song must be done in rok variant)
Living in a bootle, Hidden Houses - great songs.
But I'am not criticize Martin, cause he was made a great number of good songs. So Martin and Dave must work with new album together, it will be new good album like the Songs of faith and devotion.

Dave barely wrote 50% of his own songs. How could he write DM-songs ? And Martin said before that he doesn't like to co-write songs with other people. So, Dave has to write a full song (if he can) in order to propose it to Mart.

Dave can write songs with Martin for example, or
to suggeste how to make sound.
I don't talk about - who must write, I talk about
full picture of DM music today (no much energy)

Though I was positively surprised with PM, Gahan's lyrics/songs are waaaayyyy below what Gore can do. Let Gore write his usual 12/13 songs, then Gahan can make some b-sides. I'd rather have b-sides written by Gahan, than crappy remixes.

I think Martin's material for each album is good, by I'am disagree with arrangements (for example dream on, shine) In the middle part of the Shine you can hear electronic parts , they are don't make any drive. In paper monsters all the arrangements are simple and good.
And about music - maybe Dave made 50 percents of PM, but some songs are very good - Black and Blue, Bitter apple..

I am only don't want to see DM as a pop-machine
- machine with strong mechanics, without soul.
Paper monsters as a clear breath for me.

I don't think Shine with more drive in it would sound better Image I like DM songs the way they are Image
