How would you feel if Dave stayed a solo artist??

Discuss Dave's "Hourglass" solo project here.

He can balance the two. A lot of people have. He wouldn't leave DM.

I like Dave as the author and singer of their songs and as a composer.

Many singers are marketed outside the group. I think this is normal.

I just think that he will retain the style of performance to which we all so accustomed when listening to Depeche Mode.
I'll make your heart smile!!

no, no, no ...
depeche mode is not depeche mode without dave, and dave is not even remotely close to greatness without dm.
dave leaving dm would be really, really stupid. and i don't think he ever considered doing it anyway....

i see martin and dave as lennon and mccartney... separately they're good but together they're GREAT.

Or would this mean that none of them would be able to express themselves fully?

i'm not a musician but following some logic, i assume they just don't click when it comes to composing, Martin is probably used to working alone, and can't mix his inspiration with someone else's...
i imagine him having a train of thoughts and ideas and then comes dave with a different perspective while martin knows exactly what he wanted to do.
i dunno. just guessing here

i always thought that dm simply could not exist without martin OR dave, cause martin isn't the showman and master on stage as dave is (and although i adore mart's voice, and i really can't say who's a better singer cause they're both incredible; dave's is probably more ''right'' for the band) and dave is not such a genius composer as martin is.

Well if Dave stayed a solo artist DM would be no longer.... He is Depeche Mode he is the MASTER hahahaha just my opinion. No one could ever take his place and besides they've been at it for years one day it'll all be over. I'm pretty sure they're getting tired..I love them though keep rockin!!!!!

I'll be waiting patiently
