Yeah "Automation Baby" is another fantastic album. One of their finest efforts so far if you ask me

Actually I listen to elbow once in a while, good band, "Cast of Thousands" is a very decent album. I got interested in them a while back when I was trying to get into Ben Hilliers's early produced work.. Yeah they do sound a bit similar to Peter Gabriel which can be a good thing.. :)

By the way little flower where are you from?

Peter Gabriel again. The third reference in about 5 minutes. Obviously a sign I go should play some, but are you guys serious about comparing him to Elbow? I guess you are.

Check out a band called Iris... They are a duo that have been making music since 2000. Some of the best thoughtful synth-pop created. I've heard of most of the bands previous members have mentioned... but they are a little industrial or robotic sounding for my taste. If you like a nice melding of pop/rock+ synth check out their album Wrath. One of the best albums I've ever heard.

Also, a friend recommended the band Hurts. I had heard of them in passing on this board but I finally gave them a chance and... WOW! The singer has an amazingly great voice! Very rich and lush sounding... Their sound reminds me of Pet Shop Boys mixed with a little Muse. How are these bands not more popular here in the states is beyond me!

Hurts are just great. The new album is growing on me a lot, and I liked most of the tracks to begin with. They're not popular in the States because either the band or their record company don't even want to try: neither one of their albums has been released in the US at all!
