I've been listening to The Great Cold Distance by Katatonia a lot recently. I think Katatonia are a good band to ease someone into metal as they aren't particularly heavy... well not compared to some of the other metal I listen to. Dethroned And Uncrowned is a bit of a strange album because it's just an acoustic reworking of Dead End Kings. It's one of the few Katatonia albums I don't own.

I too know who Anathema are; my best mate's quite a fan but they're not really my cup of tea.

Their sound changes the further back you go. Discouraged Ones is the earliest album I own and it's very dark. Before that it's borderline black metal and not particularly good black metal at that. Do try the other albums between Dead End Kings and Discouraged Ones. One of their best songs is Omerta and that's not metal although the rest of the album is.

Lady Vampy Dead End Kings is top so as the Cover

I like all songs and probably the only track i hear less is buildings, because the Wall of sound but The parting is a great Wall of sound, sometimes I need Rage. I like the Lord voice, for me is fine. There is only greatness to point. vibrant, sensitive and delievers in the right way, controlled and good.I don't know when I'm going to have the chance again to hear them, but this álbum is awesome :D

Besides that, I've started getting into Foals recently. And I'm also listening to The Maccabees occasionally.

I know Porcupine Tree because I listened a lot and indeed is a cult band. If you like try also to listen Morow radio and check out other bands. Steven Wilson is very creative!!!!also is going on tour 2016.
Because of the darkness sometimes I don't listen to them.I can see the quality but I like to hear other things.
