Retirement..?

Postby xJoker » Fri Feb 16, 2018 4:56 am

Does anyone else consider the length of this tour (They haven't played this many shows since Devotional) a dangerous sign of a longer-than-usual DM hiatus to come or even their retirement from touring?

Nah, they're probably just getting on well and enjoying it.

They'll most definitely announce in advance when they're doing their final tour, a la Elton John. Hopefully that's not for quite a while though :)

While I do agree there are some strange things about this tour, they would be really dumb to do a final tour without calling it such, a huge money loss in comparison. If you think prices were high in the US this tour, imageine what people will pay if they knew it was the last time ever.

Second I think both Martin and Dave have too much creative juices still flowing to call it quits. Martin will still be inspired to write and Dave loves performing. Even Fletch is dancing on this tour, they are having what appears to be a fabulous time together on stage.

I think they are trying to make the best of their talents while they can.

Think about it: is Dave going to remain in the same physical shape and singing power in 3-4 years if there were to be another tour? Who knows. Might as well cash in.
