Know how you feel Shortbru. I saw them in Joburg in 1994 and then in Dublin in 2006. Never wished so hard to be living in England - even with the weather :-). We've had plenty of bands touring here since DM last made an appearance (U2, Metallica, etc.) doubt we'll ever see our boys in SA again.
I'm not going down on my knees begging you to adore me!

I've decided I can't be a Depeche Mode fan much longer not seeing them live. It's like supporting a football team and never watching them play.

And I agree with the posts earlier ... sadly, ridiculously, they'll never come here.

I'm starting to save for four years from now!! After all, seeing them in a packed arena in Europe or the US seems to be the best place to see them ...
With or without words I'll confide everything.

Its pretty sad that they've neglected Australia once again.

I dont things will ever change as far as Australia is concerned.

Like you said 'its best to save & go see them overseas, along with all the other fans from Europs & USA'

Long live DEPECHE MODE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

how rude and arrogant of depeche to snub asia, oz and nz by calling the tour "TOUR OF THE UNIVERSE"
wasted all of my time supporting this band, for what? nothing!

How many fans are there in Australia? Maybe they think that it's just no good to come to this wonderful country. I really love your motherland, guys, though I've never been to it. Hold on, people! Some great reward will be coming your way.))

sometimes fans forget how stressful a world tour can be...after the terrible devotional tour Dm will probably never ever go back to far away continents like Asia and Oceania...I even doubt they will ever go back to South America because of the long distances between one gig and the other...
20 TOTU gigs down + RAH to go...

I cant imagine the fanbase is large for DM in Australia and New Zealand, so as frustrating as it is, I can understand the logitsics and economics of it.
Having said that, there must be at least 5 million ex-pats from Blighty living here that would fill the venues!

Depeche mode will NEVER become one of those 'has been' bands.
WHY? Because they are constantly relevant. They are immortal.

Erasure, Human League, Pet Shop Boys. Great bands, but a joke compared to Depeche Mode.

any average australian person has the misguided idea dm are a retro cheesey 80s pop group like ABC or something, and have reformed for some retro 80s gig with 80s haircuts, 80s clothing etc

how little do they know!

although admittedly if dm came out here the australian press would probably ask dumb questions about the retro 80s past

given that is the case, its probably better that they arent coming!

thats what most the worl thinks not just australia and a lot of that is dm fault for not getting there new stuff out there !
