Postby Kaiser_Soze » Sat Jan 29, 2011 1:27 pm

Here's already the 4th volume in my edits series. This one is based on 'Some Great Reward' and here's the track list:

1. Something To Do (Kaiser Black Strobe Edit)
2. Lie To Me (Kaiser Mad Dance Remix)
3. People Are People (Kaiser Electro Swarm Remix)
4. It Doesn't Matter (Kaiser Perception Edit)
5. Stories Of Old (Kaiser Extended Fusion Mix)
6. Somebody (Kaiser Piano Fusion Remix)
7. Master And Servant (Kaiser Cosmo Light Remix)
8. If You Want (Kaiser DV Echo Remix)
9. Blasphemous Rumours (Kaiser Ural Carbon Remix)
10. In Your Memory (Kaiser Tech Slik Remix)
11. Set Me Free (Remotivate Me) (Kaiser Mechanical Remix)

You can download it (with the great covers made by Eric) here and you can check out some videos here

Enjoy :)

Cool concept with the whole "editing the albums" approach. How do you decide which mixes to use/edit?

Thank you :)

Well, I usually pick the mixes I like and then try to improve/extend them. Sometimes it's just a basic edit of one particular remix, sometimes it's much more complex and there are elements from a lot of different mixes and sometimes I just create the mix 'from scratch' (using the original song and adding my own stuff).

You just need to keep in mind that all those edits were made during the past 5 years or so, so some of them are really old and not technically 'perfect' since they were initially made just for my personal use...

Older work always has a bit of charm to it though :). Do you also combine different mixes to kind of create a "new" one? I think you did something like that on the Master and Servant edit/remix, right? But again, I tip my hat to you and look foward to what your going to do with the next 150+ songs in DM's discography ;)

Yes I did that too for several mixes (In some cases, I've combined up to 10 different mixes to create a 'new' one). There's no 'magic recipe' for all the mixes, so basically each one is more or less a different approach.

Oh yeah, I totally understand that, and it's probably better that way because then it provides a unique listen each time.

Wow, 10 mixes. Impressive. My record is 4 mixes to make a new one and that turned out to be a 15-minute colossus.
